The Field Services Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the BOYLE Sports Retail IT estate across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Role Purpose
The Field Services Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the BOYLE Sports Retail IT estate across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The role focuses on ensuring all retail technology systems and infrastructure are operating efficiently and to the highest standard.
The successful candidate will provide on-site technical support, hardware and software installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and deployment services across retail locations. The role also involves supporting shop openings, renovations, relocations, and planned technology rollouts.
This position requires a flexible and hands-on individual who is comfortable travelling extensively and participating in overnight and out-of-hours works where required to minimise business disruption.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the Retail Estate is fully operational and maintained to the highest standard
Carry out general IT service calls and technical support visits across the ROI and NI retail estate
Install, configure, and support retail technology hardware and software solutions
Perform deployment and rollout activities for:
PCs and laptops
Network equipment
Peripheral devices and technology
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues
Support retail openings, relocations, refurbishments, and closures
Complete hardware upgrades, and preventative maintenance tasks
Participate in planned overnight and out-of-hours works as required
Ensure all incidents and requests are managed within agreed KPIs and SLAs
Maintain accurate documentation of work completed, assets, and support activities
Manage business expectations throughout all stages of installations and support activities
Work collaboratively with internal IT teams, operational teams, and third-party vendors
Escalate critical issues appropriately and provide timely updates to stakeholders
Follow company IT security, operational, and health & safety standards
Experience / Qualifications Required
Essential Experience & Skills
Previous experience in a Field Services Engineer, IT Support, or similar technical support role
Experience in customer-facing hardware and software installations
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Experience with configuration, deployment, and rollout activities
Good working knowledge of:
Windows operating systems
RF and Satellite troubleshooting
Basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours and travel requirements
Full clean driving licence
Willingness to travel extensively throughout Ireland and the UK
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting retail or multi-site environments
Knowledge of EPOS systems and retail technology
Experience with structured cabling, network equipment
Experience working in fast-paced operational environments
Relevant IT certifications or technical qualifications

Working Requirements
Extensive travel across ROI and NI is required
