The Stock Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management, control, and governance of all IT and technology assets across all Retail (UK/NI/ROI) and corporate environments
Location: Hybrid – 2 days WFH (Head Office with regular interaction with Retail & Corporate sites)

Role Purpose:
The Stock Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management, control, and governance of all IT and technology assets across all Retail (UK/NI/ROI) and corporate environments.
This role ensures that hardware is accurately tracked, securely stored, efficiently distributed, recovered, and disposed of, enabling IT teams to focus on delivery rather than logistics.
The Stock Manager acts as the single source of truth for physical / software IT assets, ensuring stock availability, cost control, audit readiness, and compliance throughout the asset lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset & Stock Management
Own and manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including software licenses, laptops, desktops, peripherals, mobile devices, POS equipment, Televisions and network hardware.
Maintain an accurate, up-to-date asset register covering Retail and Corporate sites.
Ensure all assets are correctly procured, tagged, logged, tracked, and reconciled.
Perform regular stock audits and reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and resolving variances.
Manage buffer stock levels to support new starters, leavers, replacements, and retail rollouts.
Provisioning & Distribution:
Coordinate device provisioning logistics, including:
Receiving stock from suppliers
Secure storage
Shipping to offices, third party engineers, internal engineers, retail locations, home workers.
Ensure IT provisioning lead times are met (e.g. minimum one week for account/device readiness).
Work closely with Service Desk and Infrastructure teams to align build schedules and deployment timelines.
Leaver, Recovery & Disposal Processes:
Own the leaver asset recovery process, ensuring devices are returned promptly and securely.
Track overdue or missing equipment and escalate where required.
Coordinate secure wiping, refurbishment, redeployment, or disposal of end-of-life assets.
Ensure disposal complies with security, data protection, and environmental regulations.
Vendor & Supplier Management:
Act as the primary contact for hardware suppliers, couriers, and disposal partners.
Raise and track purchase orders for approved hardware.
Monitor supplier performance against cost, delivery, and SLA expectations.
Support contract renewals and pricing reviews with accurate usage and forecasting data.
Cost Control & Reporting:
Track and report on asset spend, stock value, depreciation, and write-offs.
Identify opportunities to reuse, redeploy, or standardise hardware to reduce costs.
Produce regular reports on:
Stock levels
Asset utilisation
Loss/damage trends
Upcoming replacement cycles
Process, Governance & Compliance
Define, document, and continuously improve stock and asset management processes.
Ensure compliance with:
Internal IT policies
Security standards
Audit and regulatory requirements
Support internal and external audits, providing evidence and reporting as required.
Champion best practice in asset governance and accountability across the business.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with:
Service Desk
Infrastructure & Retail IT teams
HR (joiners/leavers)
Finance & Procurement
Executive Team members (where necessary)
Retail Operations
Act as a trusted operational partner, ensuring clear ownership and smooth hand-offs between teams.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience in stock, asset, or inventory management, ideally in an IT or multi-site environment.
Strong understanding of IT hardware asset lifecycles.
Experience maintaining asset registers and stock management systems.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience in Retail, Corporate IT, or large multi-location environments.
Familiarity with ITSM or asset management tools (e.g. ManageEngine, ServiceNow, Jira, other alternatives..).
Understanding of data security and device disposal standards.
Experience supporting audit and compliance activities.
